Social responsibility

We believe we all have a responsibility to our planet. Australian Business Visas' systems and policies ensure we take into account the social and environmental consequences of our activities. We are committed to a policy of both awareness and action to protect and preserve the world's fragile eco-balance, through our environmental practices:

• Reduce waste by re-using and recycling resources including paper, envelopes, boxes, containers, printer cartridges, etc;
• Conduct business and visa applications electronically and only use paper when absolutely necessary;
• Switch off electronic equipment when not in use and never leave it in 'stand-by' mode;
• Live by the mantra of reduce, re-use and recycle;
• Use of public transport wherever possible;
• Offset our flights and travel requirements where possible;
• Use 'green' service providers and/or 'fair trade' products wherever possible.

Conducting our business electronically
By conducting the majority of our business operations electronically, we are able to minimise our impact on the environment and keep our business costs to a minimum. The savings we make by conducting the majority of our business electronically are reflected in our fees to our clients.

Community-based support
As a responsible partner within the international community, we endeavour to balance our environmental practices with community-based support. In January 2010 we donated a significant percentage of our profits to the Australian Red Cross to support their efforts in assisting the Haitian people affected by the catastrophic earthquake that struck earlier that month. In 2011 we provided pro-bono permanent visa application assistance to a family due to the sudden death of a husband and father. We also provided financial support to The Smith Family – a national, independent children's charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
